Looking for the perfect beverage to sip in the morning? I like to make this chai tea mix in bulk so that I can easily make it in the mornings. It takes only a few minutes to make and will make you about 32 cups. And did I say how delicious it is??
YIELD: 32 servings
INGREDIENTS
2 cups organic loose leaf rooibos (I used this brand)
250 g (2 cups) organic coconut milk powder (I used this brand)
1 cup bamboo sweetener (sold exclusively in the office)
5 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp dried ginger
2 tsp ground clove
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
DIRECTIONS TO MAKE THE MIX:
Sift all ingredients into a large bowl (this can be done without sifting, but sifting ensures less clumps throughout the mixture, making it easier to incorporate all the spices. The last thing you want is uneven spices and clumps)
Once all ingredients are sifted into a large bowl, mix together very well. I like to use a whisk and make sure there are no clumps.
Store in an airtight container. I like to use large, 32oz mason jars (you may have a little leftover)
DIRECTIONS ON MAKING A CUP
Put 3 tbsp of the chai mix in a french press and fill with 8 oz of hot water or warm milk. Let sit 5 minutes and then press/strain and pour into your favorite mug!
Serve with toppings of your choice! I like to add frothed milk on mine and top with cinnamon and bamboo sweetener on top of the froth.
