Food Replacements
Caffeine /Beverage Replacements
Instead of relying on caffeine, try drinking cold-pressed juices, cucumber water, or a smoothie of your choice! You may also drink organic, herbal teas (please stay away from decaffeinated coffees and teas). We love Blue Lotus Chai and Organic Peppermint Tea.
Chocolate Replacements
While there really aren't many replacements for chocolate, we find that organic nut butters help to curb that sweet craving, as do raw nuts and fruits. Our favorite is from a brand called “Wildly Organic”. They soak their nuts prior to blending them so that they are lower in oxalates, phytic acid and lectins. We also love our signature banana ice cream, which always satisfies a sweet tooth! See recipe here.
Cola/Soda Replacements
There is finally a replacement for soda! Our favorite brand, Olipop, delivers the same great taste as traditional sodas, without the chemicals and sugar, and loaded with gut-healthy prebiotics. You can find Olipop at Publix, the Super Targets, Loves Whole Foods, Debbies Whole Foods and on Amazon. CAUTION: Some of their flavors contain caffeine. Please opt for other flavors with no caffeine. We love their root beer!
Acai Replacement
Instead of having an acai bowl, make a smoothie bowl with your favorite frozen fruit!
