Food Replacements
Almond Replacements
-
If you're searching for a replacement for almonds for snacking, try organic cashews, walnuts or pecans. As an alternative for almond flour, try organic oat flour, coconut flour or cassava flour! All of these can be found at most grocery stores. Bob's Red Mill brand has many flours to choose from! *check ingredients to make sure they align with your nutrition program*
Spinach Replacements
-
If you're used to using spinach in your salads, use Arugula instead. TIP: add in a few fresh basil leaves for added flavor!
Chocolate Replacements
-
While there really aren't many exact replacements for chocolate, we find that nut butters help to curb that sweet craving, as do raw nuts and fruits. We also love our signature banana ice cream, which always satisfies a sweet tooth! (see recipe page!) *check ingredients to make sure they align with your nutrition program*
Potato Replacements
-
Instead of potatoes, you can use orange sweet potatoes, parsnips, colored carrots and/or cauliflower. TIP: You can mash the cauliflower to replace mashed potatoes, and you can bake/saute the carrots and parsnips to replace chopped potatoes. For potato chip replacements, we recommend the brand called Siete. These can also be found nearby in Volusia County at Loves Whole Foods, Publix, on their website (use our discount code "HLICHIROPRACTIC" to receive 25% off your first order!) and on Amazon). We also recommend BeYu Ancient Roots Chips (found at Loves Whole Foods and online and Amazon) They have many delicious flavors. You can find these at Publix, Loves and Amazon. *check ingredients to make sure they align with your nutrition program*
Green Tea Replacements
-
Try organic herbal teas, fruit-infused water and/or cold-pressed juices!
